Waiting in the Holy Spirit, Acting in the Holy Spirit

In the time between Easter Sunday and Pentecost the disciples met with Jesus but also with each other, waiting and praying to be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

How do we wait well? What would we like to be empowered for? What is our prayer?

Some verses that may help us:

WAITING Upon the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:4-5"Wait for the promise of the Father... you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

Isaiah 40:31"They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength... they shall run and not be weary."

Lamentations 3:25-26"The Lord is good to those who wait for him... it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

Romans 8:25-26"If we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness..."

🕊️ Waiting is not inactivity — it’s alignment. The Spirit strengthens and prepares us as we wait.

🔹 ACTING in the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses..."

Romans 8:14"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

Galatians 5:16"Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh."

Galatians 5:25"If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit."

Luke 4:1"Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit in the wilderness."

🔥 Acting in the Spirit means moving with divine purpose, not personal impulse.

🙏 Prayer

“Holy Spirit, teach me to wait with trust and to move with obedience. Fill me, lead me, and empower me for your will.” - What else would you ask God for today?
